In its research and development sector, MP3 has started from about one year an innovative line of research to obtain and publish the technical data for the selection of its own products.
Number one in Italy and possibly the World, MP3 has chosen to develop in collaboration with ENERGO a method of analysis for the eraulic behaviour of products of diffusion with the use of a series of integrated CFD programs. On the basis of the principle of the finished elements, allows to create mathematical models apt to perfectly describe the air motion in any condition and to provide information on the speed, pressure and temperature of the air in every point of the room, inside diffusers, ducts and all those units that make up a full air treatment system.
In this grand development plan the union has been reached between two big experts in the field of air treatment.
MP3, and its young dynamic technical and commercial staff, has been able to acquire large segments of the market through its strong points: the first being the best possible service to the customer, in terms of the commercial and technical stand points, providing the most amount of information on performance data and carrying out a constant in-depth re-examination and improvement of current technical documentation. All this to answer, in a comprehensive manner, questions and requirements of installers and project managers.
The simulations made with the CFD, position MP3 in clear advantage in the market, allowing to supply vastly more precise and accurate fluid dynamic data compared to that acquired through the use of traditional test rooms. The analysis obtained with the use of the CFD program also forms a very useful support during the planning stages. It allows to carry out fluid dynamic studies prior to the production of prototypes and implementation of production lines. In so doing, it allows to proceed with the production of new products only once the perfect optimisation of the unit has been confirmed.
Finally, the decision to use simulations with CFD,
integrates the considerable commitment that MP3 has undertaken
in these past years in the area of noise analysis by
carrying-out numerous test and evaluations at prestigious
This approach, therefore, allows to make the most appropriate choices and make all the necessary optimisations to systems while still at the planning stages as a guaranty of improved realisation and with clear savings on time and costs.
What is particularly interesting is the study on a surface section placed at a increasing distance from the diffuser.
The traditional test rooms, other than having fixed dimensions, allow to measure the air speed only in limited points, whereas with the virtual test room, it is like there are an infinite umber of sensors.
It is also possible to simulate heat sources, heat dispersion areas,
furniture and any other variable that may influence the flow or air.
The use of the integrated CFD programs allow to verify the distribution
of the air speed inside the plenum of the diffuser, therefore identifying
the optimal dimensions for a homogeneous and perfect exit speed from the
diffuser taking over from the traditional empiric and rough methods in favour of
a reproducible method, both quick and precise.
This analysis is fundamental when there are more diffusers in the same room
and it is the only one that allows to exactly describe the condition created
from the intersection
The study of air speed distribution inside the diffusers is fundamental to identify the apt solutions in reducing noise and pressure losses.
It also allows to exactly determine the air speed on exit, normally
indicated with Vk, as well as the efficient section on exit normally indicate
Only with an instrument like the integrated CFD programs is it possible to know the exact effect of the flow of air of the obstacles inside the duct, like the damper blade, the mechanic stopper and the thermal fuse.
This has allowed to manufacture a product that not only responds to the high
fire resistance requirements indicated by the standard but also one that can
guarantee the optimisation of the pressure losses and the maximum reduction of
the generated noise.
The integrated CFD programs allow to build diffuser models in any type of environment. The collaboration between MP3 and ENERGO, can therefore produce personalised studies simulating the exact installation environment of the products while at the same time taking into account of any type of necessary variable like the arrangement of the extraction points, furniture layout, presence of heat sources, heat conduction of glass surfaces and seasonal changes.
